I Got Home First! (by Rhodry)

April 26, 2007

Susanna was brushing Allie. She said, "Do you want to come for a trail ride, Rhodry? We will not go too fast because Allie had shots yesterday." Smile smile, wag wag, woooo! I like to go for rides. I do not like to be a left-behind puppy!

I trotted for a very long time. Allie walked, but Allie is big. Susanna did not have to walk or trot because she sat on Allie. I sniffed trees and rocks and jumped over puddles. On a dirt road Allie and Susanna went very fast. I cannot go that fast because I am not as big as Allie. I went into the woods. I did not find anything to eat but I rolled in the leaves. Susanna called, "Rhodry! Where are you, Rhodry? Where is my puppy?" I was in the woods!

Susanna and Allie went up another road. I went home. I got home first! Ginny said, "Why are you here, Rhodry? Where are Susanna and Allie?" I said, "RRR-rr-RRRRR!" They will come soon!

Chamois said, "Listen, Rhodry!" I listened. The big brown truck was coming! Chamois and I ran up the hill to say hello to the truck. The truck's rider is UPS. He likes us and he has cookies! He gave Chamois and me cookies and let me get in the truck. He said, "Woo-woo-woo!" I do not know what that means but I think it is good.

Susanna and Allie came home. I was glad. I thought they were lost! Susanna was not glad. She said, "You are a sneaky puppy, Rhodry! Where did you go?"

I said, "Woo-woo-RRRRR!" I came home! I cannot run as fast as Allie!

She said, "Incredible disappearing puppy! I was worried! I thought you had a heart attack in the woods or maybe you got shot by the llama man." I did not have a heart attack! I did not get shot! The UPS man gave me and Chamois cookies!

Susanna was glad to see me but she pretended she was mad. Then she scratched my ears and said I was a good puppy. She is right!

Your friend,

Rhodry
