September License Plate Report

September 30, 2006

This month's haul was better than August's, that's for sure, though it wasn't big. When you get down to the last half dozen or so, even one is cause for celebration. The last holdouts are the last holdouts for a reason: there aren't many of them around at any time of year. So Louisiana is now colored blue on my map. I spotted it on Main Street, Vineyard Haven. The bonus was the bumper sticker that said MAKE LEVEES, NOT WAR.

Thanks for all the North Dakota visualizations, especially to Sally N. for hers: along with the rare, coveted North Dakota license plate, it included a gig, a six-figure advance, and a bunch of cookies for Rhodry.

Only three months left to spot the Last Five: Arkansas, Mississippi, Nebraska, Hawaii, and the chronically AWOL North Dakota. I know you're out there somewhere.
