June License Plate ReportJune 30, 2006 Iowa, Nevada, Alaska, and Alabama. Not a huge haul, but those are some heavy hitters. Never did see that Nevada plate CHAPPY again, but one day I was headed out of West Tisbury on the Edgartown Road and I spotted two pickups headed into town, both with Nevada plates. They had to be related, don't you think? Saw one of the two a couple of days ago in the parking lot of the Vineyard Haven post office. The total stands at 44, which means -- since I'm counting D.C. -- that I've got 7 to go: Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Hawaii, and the chronically elusive North Dakota. Summer is peak spotting time. Anything that hasn't been seen by fall equinox is generally gone for the year, but sometimes there are stragglers.
